It will include activated carbons, templated mesoporous carbons, carbon nanotubes, carbon gels, carbide-derived carbons, graphene materials. ► Influence of the characteristics of carbons on the supercapacitor performance. ►Current potentialities and challenges of nanocarbons for supercapacitor applications Speaker Biography (Teresa A Centeno)Teresa A. Centeno, PhD degree in Chemistry by the University of Oviedo (Spain), is Senior Scientist at Instituto Nacional del Carbón-CSIC. Her research is focused in the preparation, characterization and application of carbons in energy-related processes and emissions reduction. Currently, her interests are in the field of carbon-based supercapacitors. The main contributions have been reported in 75 refereed publications, 5 chapters in books, 7 patents and participation in 35 research projects, supported by public sources as well as industrial research contracts Company Profile (Instituto Nacional del Carbon - CSIC)![]() Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas-CSIC is an organism attached to the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. The CSIC is the largest public research institution in Spain and covers several fields from basic research through to advanced technological development. It is organised into eight scientific and technical areas and Instituto Nacional del Carbón - INCAR is included within the area of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. Actually, INCAR-CSIC performs an important research on the development of new carbon materials whose properties are investigated for the most modern applications, from composites to supercapacitors. |
