Speaker Biography (Vincent Paliczka)Vincent has worked for Bracknell Forest Borough Council since 1998 just as it was becoming a unitary authority. Following a re-organisation in February 2004 he became the Director of Environment and Leisure, having originally held the position of Director of Leisure. Prior to this he has worked in local authorities in Newport South Wales, and High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire and also worked at The Queen's University in Belfast in a research capacity. Within Bracknell Forest, he is the corporate lead for the development of the local smartcard programme project (e+), and is also responsible for the national roll out of the product of the National Smartcard Project, SmartConnect. Company Profile (Bracknell Forest Borough Council)![]() Bracknell Forest Borough Council is a unitary authority in Berkshire which supplies a wide range of services to about 110,100 people, not only in Bracknell new town, but surrounding communities like Sandhurst, Crowthorne, Binfield and North Ascot. The Council has responsibility for the Borough's schools, roads, social services, planning, council housing, libraries, and parks and is working with partners on a major £750million regeneration of Bracknell town centre. Last year, the Council was rated as having three out of four stars for its services in a Government review and has high satisfaction ratings from its residents. |
