Presentation Summary

  • Introduction to OLED device simulator SimOLED® for modeling electrical and optical properties of OLEDs
  • Methodologies for input parameter determination are presented
  • Electrical simulation results and calculated optical angular emission spectra of multilayer phosphorescent OLED are shown and compared to experiment

Speaker Biography (Robert Nitsche)

Dr. Robert Nitsche recieved his Diploma and PhD degrees in physics in 2001 and 2005, respectively, both at the Technische Universitaet Dresden under the supervision of Prof. Karl Leo. During his PhD thesis he worked on the optical characterization of organic thin films and developed a numerical algorithm for calculating the optical constants of organic films. After a two year engagement at Infineon Technologies he went back to the field of organic semiconductors to found its own company sim4tec.

Company Profile (sim4tec GmbH)

sim4tec GmbH logo
Sim4tec was founded in January 2007 as a spin-off from the Institut fuer Angewandte Photophysik (IAPP), Technische Universitaet Dresden (TUD) and CreaPhys GmbH. The company develops comprehensive simulation software in the field of organic electronics for a variety of different applications. The main product is the OLED simulation software SimOLED®. Part of the software was already developed at Prof. Karl Leo's group at the IAPP and benefits therefore directly from the rich theoretical and experimental experience of the group members. Sim4tec extended the software to include a graphical user interface and has now completely taken over the responsibility for future developments and commercialization.
