Presentation Summary

The review of bi and multistable LCD modes in cholesteric, nematic and ferroelectric liquid crystals will be given.
Both electrically and optically rewritable LCD E-paper will be considered.
The problems of LCD E-paper realization of flexible substrates will be highlighted.

Speaker Biography (Vladimir G Chigrinov)

Professor Chigrinov joined HKUST in Hong Kong in 1999, and become a full Professor in 2008. He is a coauthor of a pioneering work in Liquid Crystal Photoaligning Technology, which has about 600 citations in scientific and technical journals. He is a Senior Member of the Society of Information Display (SID) since 2004, SID Fellow since 2008. He is an author of 4 books, 15 reviews and book chapters, about 160 journal papers, more than 360 Conference presentations and 60 patents and patent applications in the field of liquid crystals since 1974.
