Digital transformation is revolutionizing the automotive industry. Technological innovation, fast to market, product and service monetization are not considered merely as buzzwords rather as the way of doing business today in the automotive sector. The technology disruption has led to the rise of new players in the automotive industry eventually leading to new market entrants in the automotive ecosystem. The onset of innovative technologies has disrupted the way products are manufactured in the automotive industry and is gradually transforming the way products and service consumption of the consumers. While product quality played a major role in the ICE sector, customer or user experience is highly valued in the E-Mobility sector. Traditional way of doing business is challenged due to the entry of new market players into the automotive ecosystem which was previously dominated by few major OEMs. The scenario of new market entrants not only make evident the transformation in the automotive industry but also need for new technologies. Rahima Yakoob is working as Project Lead for Charging responsible for intergrating Charging service providers to the Daimler EV ecosystem. She has completed her Master of Science in IT Software Technology, MBA in Industrial Management and currently pursuing her PhD at HHL Leipzig in the field of Technology based transformation in automotive supply chain and role of organizational development.
