Speaker Biography (Neil Graddage)Neil Graddage graduated with a masters degree in Physics from Exeter University in 2008. His interest in nanotechnology led to a masters thesis investigating chemical doping, noise characteristics and temperature dependence of graphene nanostructures. He proceeded to join the Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating to investigate the commercialisation of nanotechnology research by studying for a PhD focussing on the use of carbon nanotubes as a material for functional printing. During this time he has also investigated the use of solution processing methods of producing graphene thin films. Company Profile (Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating)![]() The Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating (WCPC) is dedicated to researching printing and coating as a manufacturing process. WCPC undertakes research on all aspects of printing and coating and has a core activity on printing for electronics manufacture. Its international reputation and expertise has led to £3M investment in all printing processes in clean room conditions. This unique facility allows electronic fabrication by flexo, gravure, inkjet, screen and offset lithography to be carried out on sheet or reel. Manufacturing capabilities are matched to state of the art metrology for rheology, material properties, surface topography and electronic characterisation. WCPC is currently a partner in a number of TSB, EPSRC and FP7 projects for electronic manufacture by printing. Further details are available at www.swan.ac.uk/printing |
