View Inc.

Corning invested $60 million in View Inc. in June 2013 as a part of their strategy to enter the architectural glass market. The company developed a glass fusion process for glass manufacturing - this is higher quality than conventional float manufacturing techniques. The thickness of the glass manufactured by the fusion process is in the range of 0.4 - 0.7mm whereas float glass is in the range of 2-12mm. They are looking for new glass markets for this product.
