ABB is a Swedish-Swiss multinational corporation headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland, operating mainly in robotics, power, heavy electrical equipment, and automation technology areas. ABB has about 105000 employees in over 100 countries, and their total revenue in 2020 is 26.5 billion USD, with a 7% decrease compared to 2019. They were demonstrating two collaborative robot arm units at the Robotics and Automation 2021 event, where IDTechEx visited their booth.

Mitsubishi Electric, as a core company of Mitsubishi Group, now has over 150000 employees overall the world, generating a turnover of about 40 billion USD in 2020. Element Logic
IDTechEx spoke to Sam Woodward, Sales Support UK at Element Logic at the Robotics and Automation 2021. As a distributor of AutoStore, Element Logic is headquartered in Kløfta, Norway, and has about 180 employees. AutoStore provides cube-based warehouse automation. Their products allow the bins/totes to be stacked up to 16 layers, with robots on the top to pick and retrieve goods. AutoStore has many partners worldwide, including well-known Swisslog and Dematic, to distribute the products, and Element Logic is one of them.

They are an automation design agency and integrator that builds customised robotic systems. They also have services of training, maintenance, and scaling the existing automation systems.

FlowStore
FlowStore was an intralogistics equipment manufacturer based in Hayes, the UK, selling directly to end-users. The conveyor system is their key product, and the most unique features of it are that: 1) the system is much lighter and simpler compared with conventional conveyors, and 2) it uses mostly gravity to drive the movement of material flow.

IDTechEx briefly spoke to Brillopak at the event Robotics and Automation 2021. BrilloPAK is a British manufacturer of automated packing and palletising systems. The company now employs about 20 people, based in Tonbridge, Kent, and is active primely in the UK and Europe market. They sell their products mainly to end-users but also integrators. Morrisons, the fourth largest chain of supermarkets in the UK, is one of their biggest customers and end-users.

RARUK is a robotic solution distributor for many types of robotics products, but the primary ones are collaborative robots from Universal Robots, mobile robots from Mobile Industrial Robot (MiR), and robots and components from Robotiq.

CubeSat to Assess Origins of Hot Plasma in the Sun's Corona
NASA has selected the CubeSat Imaging X-Ray Solar Spectrometer, led by Southwest Research Institute, to measure the elemental composition of hot, multimillion-degree plasmas in the Sun's corona - its outermost atmosphere. The nanosatellite is expected to be launched in 2024 as a secondary payload on another satellite launch. CubIXSS will determine the origins of hot plasma - highly ionized gas - in solar flares and active regions.
