Philips Launches Wearable for Early Patient Deterioration, COVID 19

The Philips Biosensor is designed to address a new approach to vital signs measurements, supporting surveillance of higher acuity patients moving from intensive care units into lower acuity general care areas of a hospital. The lightweight, disposable biosensor is a 5-day, single-use wearable patch which can be integrated with a scalable hub to monitor multiple patients across multiple rooms.

dpiX is both a manufacturer of x-ray image detectors and a foundry for (primarily) backplanes. It has a Gen 4.5 line spanning 239,000 sq ft, which is the largest outside Asia. It has recently extended its capability to make flexible image sensors using amorphous silicon on flexible polyimide substrates.

Quantib's software is able to detect abnormalities that radiologists can't see with the naked eye. The company makes all the information captured in medical images available to radiologists, so they can detect diseases before symptoms start showing. The AI algorithms developed by Quantib help to identify specific brain disorders months before radiologists could perceive them using conventional methods.
