Lithium-ion capacitors are typically devices with one Li-ion battery electrode and one supercapacitor electrode, both swimming in a lithium-ion battery electrolyte. Usually Asymmetric Electrochemical Double Layer Capacitors AEDLC, they were first commercialised in 1999, the year IDTechEx was founded.
