Commercial development of Na-ion batteries

While academic development of Na-ion batteries has been ongoing, CATLs public entry into the Na-ion market has catalysed interest in the commercial role of Na-ion as a future battery technology. Despite this interest, there are only a handful of small companies, plus CATL, developing Na-ion technology, highlighting the difficulty of developing new battery chemistries as well as competing with lithium based chemistries.
