As the EV population is booming, quicker recharging needs have been the need of the hour. Battery swapping (which has taken off in China for the car segment) allows an EV user to drive into a battery swapping station (BSS) and replace a depleted battery for a fully charged one in under 5 minutes. While conventional cable based charging has had years of development, battery swapping is in its nascent stages and has major hurdles to cross before being offered as a widespread complementary solution to conductive charging.
