However recent and unpredictable spikes in the precious metals markets have added to cost supplier pressures, as those cost spikes must ultimately get passed along to the end user or consumer. * There has been an increase in activity throughout the supply chain aimed at minimizing the impact of the fluctuating precious metals markets, and this talk will introduce new printed conductor that offer lower cost alternatives to most typical printed silver conductors on the market today. * This presentation will also review emergin Printed Electronics applications where new material developments are helping to enable lower cost end products. Speaker Biography (Scott E Gordon)Scott Gordon is currently New Business Development Manager and Flexible Electronics Segment Manager for DuPont Teijin Films. He received a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from Lafayette College, and he has over 30 years with the DuPont Company. During his DuPont career, he has held numerous Sales, Sales Management, and New Business Development positions within several DuPont businesses, including Electronics, Displays, Holographics, Advanced Fiber Systems, and since 2013, Polyester Films. He is a member of the IPC Printed Electronics Management Council Steering Committee, and he currently serves on several IPC Printed Electronics Standards Development subcommittees. Company Profile (DuPont Advanced Materials)![]() DuPont Microcircuit Materials has nearly 50 years of experience in the development, manufacture and sale of specialized ink compositions for a wide variety of substrates and electronic applications in the display, photovoltaic, automotive, biomedical, industrial and telecommunications markets. The company holds a lead position in these markets with success based on close customer relationships and a comprehensive worldwide support infrastructure. At this year's Conference DuPont will be introducing lower cost, high performance conductor materials for Printed Electronics and Thin Film PV applications. The new PE815 conductor for Printed Electronics can provide a >20% cost benefit, and the PE815 resistivity can be significantly reduced through the use of Photonic Curing. |
