Infinite Corridor Technology

Infinite Corridor Technology (ICT) was set up in 2009 as an MIT spin-off. Its technology enables the creation of flexible and stretchable PBCs. Its initial target market was wearable devices that can be twisted and flexed. Its technology uses standard PBC technology on copper-clad Kapton and does not require any inherently flexible technology such as special plastic substrates or printed conductive inks.

EMS based in Delaware, OH, USA was acquired by Nagase Chemtex Corporation in 2012 after about 10 years of collaborative efforts between the two companies in epoxy materials development. Wearable, automotive and IoT drive sensor growth at IDTechEx Show!

The last decade has seen the cost of sensors fall to an average sales price of 50 cents from several dollars, driven first by the increase in sensors for automotive followed by consumer electronics such as smart phones. The next phase of volume growth will be driven by wearable technology, IoT and driver assisted/autonomous vehicles. This is also driving work on new types of sensors, such as flexible, larger area ones.
