i-RFID a New Generation of Active RFID (RFID Europe 2011)

Born in Chengdu, China on March 16th in 1946, and educated both in China & USA.

He was awarded a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering of Colorado State University in 1991. He set up Westvalley Digital Technologies, Inc (now i-RFID Technologies, inc.) in 2004. Since then Dr. Liao has been devoting himself to develop low power, low cost, flexible short range wireless communication systems. After 7 years' hard working, Dr. Liao has successfully developed i-RFID technology - a new generation of active RFID for IoT applications. In 2009, Dr Liao was invited to become a member of Chinese National Standard Working Group for both RFID and RTLS. In Sept. 2010, ISO accepted Dr. Liao's proposal to begin a new work for a new active RFID standard based on i-RFID technology.
