Speaker Biography (Axel Sikora)

Dr. Axel Sikora holds a Dipl.-Ing. (M.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering and a Dipl. Wirt.-Ing. (MBA) both from Aachen Technical University (Germany). He did his Ph.D. with Fraunhofer Institute of Microelectronic Circuits and Systems on high-temperature digital circuits using SOI technologies. After several positions in telecommunications and semiconductor industry, he joined Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Loerrach as professor in 1999. Since 2011 he is professor at the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, where he heads the institute of reliable Embedded Systems and Communication Electronics (ivESK). Since Jan 2016, he is also head of the business unit "Software Solutions" and proxy director of Hahn-Schickard in Villingen-Schwenningen. In 2002, he founded a transfer center for embedded design and networking, which in 2014 was spun off as STACKFORCE GmbH.
 
Dr. Sikora is author, co-author, editor and co-editor of several textbooks and more than 200 scientific articles. He organizes several conferences each year and is a regular speaker in conferences and workshops. Amonst other duties, he serves a member of the steering committee of the Embedded World Conference, as scientific adviser to the Wireless Congress, and as member of the board of the M2M Alliance.
