Zendar: High Performance, Cheap Automotive Radar

Zendar is a start-up working on improving automotive radar. Zendar believes that current automotive radar is limited by the weak computational processing power embedded in the sensor. They suggest a move to a central processing unit with more computational power which can handle multiple radar front-ends at one time. IDTechEx Autonomous Sensor Suite Summary - 2022

In general, three primary sensors are associated with autonomous driving: cameras, radars and LiDARs. There are some examples of companies choosing not to use one of these sensor types, e.g. Tesla opting for a camera only solution, however, these are very much exceptions that prove the rule. For high levels of autonomy, operating in all weather conditions, all three sensors are recommended for covering all necessary tasks.

High Power Wireless Vehicle Charging Technology
