IDTechEx are hosting a free webinar on Tuesday 30 September.
Webinar Title: Structural Electronics 2015-2025
Date: Tuesday 30 September
Presenter: Dr Peter Harrop, Chairman, IDTechEx
Structural electronics is the incorporation of electronics and electrics into load-bearing and protective structures. Originating in aerospace, it is now appearing in and on bridges, buildings and even domestic washing machines. For example, Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) is now receiving close attention and aircraft with a complete nervous system consisting of sensors throughout the fuselage are in prospect. Unmanned aircraft, that stay aloft for five years on sunshine alone will soon have structural photovoltaics. The enabling technologies include in-mold electronics, 3D printing incorporating electronics and printed electronics. We show how this will transform electric vehicles and introduce new concepts such as smart skin and show the car bodywork that is a supercapacitor.
This webinar shares the following research from the new IDTechEx report, Structural Electronics 2015-2025: Applications, Technologies, Forecasts:
- The needs and dreams for structural electronics
- The technologies and achievements
- The next ten years and prospects such as structural metamaterials
