Thermoelectric devices can be energy harvesters making electricity from ambient temperature differences (bottom left or thermoelectric cooling equipment. In the case of thermoelectric energy harvesters known as thermoelectric generators TEG, the same principle can be used for sensing, the power involved being much less.
