High-Manganese Li-ion Cathodes

Lithium-manganese-rich nickel-manganese-cobalt oxides (LMR-NMC), also known as over-lithiated and manganese-rich cathodes, offer a route to lower cost Li-ion batteries whilst maintaining similar energy densities to high-nickel NMC and NCA based batteries. This premium article will analyse the advantages and disadvantages of LMR-NMC cathodes and the current state of development and commercialisation.
