Presentation Summary

  • Fleet truck electrification requires a different approach than light vehicle electrification, because the market is structured differently.
  • Fleets are risk-averse, economic buyers, but willing to try pilots and test programs.
  • Parallel hybrids, e.g. the "Prius analog" for fleet trucks, have seen adoption among US fleets in the hundreds to low thousands.
  • Truly revolutionary driveline technology for trucks is emerging, but in limited pilots - and to date lacks scale.
  • Within the decade, these revolutionary technologies for fleet trucks will hit the tipping point. It remains to be seen who the winners will be.
