Speaker Biography (Banglin Lee)

Bang-Lin Lee is a principal research engineer in the Emerging Materials Research Center (organic TFT strategic technology unit) at SAIT (Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology). His research focuses on organic semiconductors for printed electronics and organic thin-film transistors. He received his B.A. in Textile Engineering at Hanyang University in Seoul (1993). He received his M.S. (1997) and Ph. D. (2000) degrees from the department of electronic chemistry, Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT), for the synthesis of π-conjugated polymers by organometallic processes and their electronic, optical properties under the supervision of Prof. Takakazu Yamamoto. During the doctorate course, he was a research fellowship for young scientist of JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science). After his Ph. D., he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Kent State University (USA) by the end of 2000. He then moved back to Chemical Resources Laboratory, TIT, to conduct research on semiconducting polymer-metal complexes under a JSPS postdoctoral Fellowship until he joined SAIT in June 2002.
