VitalConnect Inc. has developed a fully-disposable, low-profile and FDA-cleared (for adults) wireless biosensor (VitalPatch®) that is worn on chest. VitalPatch continuously captures multiple medical-grade biometrics (e.g. EKG, heart rate, breathing rate) and transmits the data via Bluetooth in real-time for up to 96 hours to a relay (tablet, wireless hub) and to the cloud. This talk highlights the accuracy of vitals and usability of VitalPatch in pediatric population in a home environment.
Dhwanil Damania is a Senior Biomedical Engineer at VitalConnect Inc., a medical-device startup company in San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Damania's work includes biosensor investigation, sensor-integration, algorithm development, clinical protocol design and execution and data analysis. Prior to that, Dr. Damania worked as a Design Engineer at Stryker Endoscopy, developing endoscopic light source. Dhwanil received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering with focus on cancer diagnostics from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. He has a Bachelor's in Electronics and Instrumentation from Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences (BITS) Pilani, India. Dr. Damania has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal publications, patents and has presented several scientific talks at various international conferences.
