Presentation Summary

Here I report our recent development on droplet-microfluidics based continuous chemical sensors for both healthcare and environmental monitoring. As example applications, we have successfully fabricated wearable sensors and tested them in vivo for continuous /glucose monitoring on human subjects, also developed field deployable water sensor for prolonged nitrite/nitrate monitoring in river and estuary.

Speaker Biography (Xize Niu)

Dr. Xize Niu is an associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering and the Physical Sciences, University of Southampton. He is also the founder and director of SouthWestSensor (SWS) Limited. Dr Niu is an expert in the areas of microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, applied 7 patents and formed two spin out companies.
