With steady and unspectacular growth until after 2009 when changes occurred which saw the fortunes of the 3D printing world take an abrupt up-turn. Growth is being driven by a number of factors including improved awareness and falling prices of printers and materials. In fact, the materials market is possibly the most contentious issue in the industry today. While traditional applications such as prototyping continue to grow, a wide variety of new applications are causing the end-use market to increase in both depth and breadth.
