Sony announced the replacement for its aging but very successful PlayStation VR (PSVR) at CES 2022; CES 2023 saw the chance to demo the VR2, which is only compatible with the relatively hard-to-find PlayStation 5 (PS5).

Sony and Honda Plan Electric Vehicle Joint Venture
Sony Group Corporation and Honda Motor Co Ltd have signed a memorandum of understanding that outlines their intent to establish a joint venture through which they plan to engage in the joint development and sales of high value-added battery electric vehicles and commercialize them in conjunction with providing mobility services.

Sony to Release Two Types of Stacked Event-Based Vision Sensors
Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation announced the upcoming release of two types of stacked event-based vision sensors. These sensors designed for industrial equipment are capable of detecting only subject changes, and achieve the industry's smallest pixel size of 4.86μm.

Aerosense
Sony remains a majority shareholder in Aerosense, with just over 50%. However, Sony have more recently started independent internal work on drones. Shimada-san was not able to share too much, saying that their involvement with this had been relatively limited, but it was his impression that they were focusing most closely on creative applications for drones (related to Sony's important entertainment business). This development did seem to cause a bit of uncertainty within Aerosense, but it did not seem to significantly affect their strategic approach or outlook.
