Many competitors diversified into selling home batteries from other markets, and as a result have less attractive products for the residential market, which is not their priority. Tesla for example started out making electric cars, and LG Chem the battery cells which are supplied to multiple industries.
-A competitive upfront price which seems to be half the cost of the industry average in its main market: Germany.
-There may be battery supply shortages as electric mobility is prioritised by battery makers. However, because automakers have converged on NMC for its higher energy density, Sonnen's choice of LFP cells may be an unexpected advantage.
