Introduction to Interconnectors
20 May 2022 by Conrad Nichols
Interconnectors are used between countries to transmit electricity from one market to another. This benefits a country that does not wish to curtail their renewable energy, and can aid with fluctuations in supply due to intermittence of solar and wind. Large growth is being seen in the European market, with many projects planned for construction. However, some countries should be cautious so as not to be taken advantage of, as governments must decide whether such projects could affect their domestic electricity prices negatively.
