Webinar 12 Feb - Electric Buses: Big Changes in Market and Technology
IDTechEx are hosting a free webinar on Thursday 12 February 2015.
Webinar Title: Electric Buses: Big Changes in Market and Technology
Date: Thursday 12 February
Presenter: Dr Peter Harrop, Chairman, IDTechEx
Electric buses help solve road congestion, local air pollution killing hundreds of thousands yearly and global warming potentially killing all of us. However, it is not just a matter of lift-off for the bus market. The technology of electric buses is changing radically due to most components changing and merging and legislators rigging the market. For example, China now only subsidises hybrid buses if they are plug-in, with good all-electric range. From Hamburg to Paris, city authorities are forcing bus operators to go pollution-free at point of use by a set date and that will almost always mean pure-electric battery buses. Niches become big business. For example, China will soon have one million school "midibuses" to make clean. Behind this frenzy of activity lies a rethinking of every part of a bus because weight, space and cost become much more critical as we go from local to global and from small orders to large ones. Based on research for the new IDTechEx report, Electric Buses 2015-2025 this webinar explains what is happening to demand and technology and where things will be in ten years.
We will be hosting the same webinar twice in one day, so please join whichever session is the most convenient for you.
