IDTechEx and SPV Market Research Collaborate to Bring Best-In-Class Photovoltaic Research to Market
Combining decades of research to provide valuable insight as PV market re-emerges
In 2015, growth is set to continue for the solar industry with PV as the primary beneficiary. At the end of 2014, the global photovoltaic industry is expected to have shipped >40-GWp of photovoltaic crystalline and thin film panels, according to Paula Mints, Founder and Chief Market Research Analyst of SPV Market Research. In 2015 and 2016, the run up to the decrease of US Investment Tax Credit (ITC) will prove a boon to distributed generation PV, in particular the residential and small to medium commercial applications, while utility scale will continue to grow.
In the spirit of anticipated growth, IDTechEx and SPV Market Research have announced a collaboration between the two companies that will bring the research of the two companies together, aggregating decades of knowledge on all aspects of photovoltaic technologies.
Paula Mints said about the new partnership: "I am thrilled to be partnering with IDTechEx. This collaboration brings together my 18 years of experience analyzing the solar industry and its technologies and IDTechEx's expertise in OPV and Dye Sensitized solar as well as emerging storage technologies." She continued: "This new partnership will bring this work and the 38 year old database on which the work is based to a wider audience".
Raghu Das, CEO of IDTechEx, added, "The PV sector has experienced consolidation but now emerging from that, it is experiencing growth. We are delighted to offer our clients the combined expertise of both IDTechEx on thin film PV technologies and the considerable research data from SPV Markets across all of PV which will provide complete coverage of the photovoltaic landscape. This will provide the critical and accurate data and business intelligence needed by organizations as they devise their strategy and plans in PV and look for growth opportunities."
New products, including the annual supply and demand reports, published in April and August respectively and the bimonthly Solar Flare report series are already available online on the IDTechEx website.
