Energy Storage Systems for the Cayman Islands
The technology group Wärtsilä will supply two 10-megawatt / 10-megawatt hour energy storage systems under an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contract to Caribbean Utilities Company Ltd in the Cayman Islands. This project, which will be CUC's first energy storage facilities, will enable the utility to approximately double its renewable energy capacity on Grand Cayman, the largest of the three Cayman Islands.

Wärtsilä to Supply Energy Storage for Big Solar-Plus-Storage Portfolio
The technology group Wärtsilä is delivering a 500-megawatt / 2-gigawatt hour portfolio of energy storage systems to clean energy developer and operator Clearway Energy Group. The contracts cover five sites located in Hawaii and California and include one of the world's largest ever solar-plus-storage project portfolios. The combination of energy storage and solar photovoltaic resources will provide essential grid reliability to balance an increasing mix of renewable generation.

100 MWh Energy Storage System to Help UK on Path Towards Net Zero
The technology group Wärtsilä will partner with low carbon energy company SSE to deliver a 50 MW / 100 MWh energy storage system in Salisbury, Wiltshire. The battery will be the first connected directly to the transmission network by SSE's new solar and battery division and will support access to clean, reliable energy by balancing the intermittency of renewables.

Energy Storage System for Gold Mine in Suriname
The technology group Wärtsilä will supply a 7.8-megawatt / 7.8-megawatt hour energy storage system to a leading gold mining company to help achieve its climate targets and decarbonisation goals at a mine in Suriname. This is the first utility-scale energy storage system to be built in Suriname and Wärtsilä's first energy storage project in the country.

Wärtsilä to supply 110 MW Flexible Thermal Power to Italy

A Scalable and Sustainable Proposal with Hydrogen as Fuel
Class society RINA, together with technology providers ABB, Helbio (subsidiary of Metacon AB), the Liberian Registry, Wärtsilä and an Energy Major have entered in a common effort to deliver a solution with hydrogen as fuel that would exceed IMO 2050 targets for 70% reduction of carbon intensity without the need for extensive infrastructure investment, offering the shipping industry a low-carbon pathway in shorter timescales.
