Laser Processing of Inorganic Thin Films for Printed and Flexible Electronic Devices (Printed Electronics Asia 2009)

Wayne Cranton, Professor of Visual Technology at Nottingham Trent University, has been working in thin films and displays research since 1991, is the Research Coordinator in the School of Science & Technology and is a founding partner of the UK DisplayMasters Programme. As the Head of the Displays Research Group at Nottingham Trent, he has developed a novel high intensity electroluminescent technology for use in near to eye displays, and is working on laser processing techniques for printed and flexible device fabrication based on inorganic thin films.

The Advanced Textiles Research Group (ATRG) is located within the School of Art and Design at Nottingham Trent University (in the United Kingdom). The ATRG brings together experts from a variety of disparate fields including technical textiles, engineering, and textile and fashion design. The ATRG has developed a strong reputation for the creation of novel electronic textiles and flexural materials. Innovations have included the development of pressure sensing textiles, solar energy harvesting textiles, active compression textiles, heated garments, and remote heart rate monitoring textiles.
