Additive manufacturing is widely used for rapid prototyping in many areas. Injection molding is a key industry where 3D printing can assist in reducing significantly the development cycles duration and costs. Polyjet 3D printed injection molds are increasingly used for the fabrication of prototypes and even very short series production parts using a variety of thermoplastics ranging from PP to advanced engineering plastics. Stratasys unique multimaterial capability further enhances the potential of this solution by enabling tailored material design that accounts for all stages of mold preparation and performance during the injection molding process.

Speaker Biography (Lior Zonder)

Lior holds a PhD in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he specialized in multicomponent nanocomposite fabrication and characterization. Lior joined Stratasys in 2012 as an application Engineer working on all aspects related to tooling application development and specifically the design and performance of Polyjet printed injection molds. Later, Lior had joined PolyJet Chemistry group where he had led various new developments related injection molding prototyping materials and solutions. Since beginning of 2016, Lior is managing one of PolyJet Chemistry teams, that continues the materials development in the injection molding prototyping segment as well as developments in various other segments.
