Speaker Biography (Helge Hornis)

For the last 9 years Dr. Hornis has been responsible for Intelligent Systems at Pepperl+Fuchs, Inc. He has worked with a large number of users on RFID and sensor bus solutions, has managed integration projects at key customers, and was directly involved in the development of a unique 3D Position Measuring System. In 1994, he received his Ph.D. in physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
 
Helge has given well over 20 inter-company training seminars on networked safety and AS-Interface Safety at Work. Additionally, he has conducted a series of training sessions geared towards industrial users of AS-Interface Safety at Work. In addition to his responsibilities at Pepperl+Fuchs, he holds a seat on the board of Directors of AS-Interface USA. AS-Interface USA is the North American arm of AS-International.
 
Helge has published numerous articles in both peer reviewed scientific publications as well as national and international industrial trade publications and presented at both national and international conferences. He is a frequent contributor to staff written articles on topics ranging from safety networking to RFID solutions.
