Qualcomm: Preparing to Supply Autonomy to Automotive Market

Qualcomm has a long history in communications and chip design for mobile devices. As the automotive industry moves towards autonomous abilities as the main performance differentiator, Qualcomm is preparing to position itself as a supplier of autonomous systems for the future. It has its own chip design to support the computations of automated driving and it has acquired other companies to support it with sensing hardware and autonomous software. IDTechEx spoke to Qualcomm at ITS World Congress, where the two discussed Qualcomm's business, the consolidating ADAS market, and the US Chips Act.
