Kia: Bio-PU

Kia Corporation, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, is a globally recognized automotive manufacturer and a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company. With the introduction of the new EV9, Kia intends to eliminate the use of animal leather in all upcoming models. Instead, the company will utilize Bio-PU (bio-polyurethane), sourced from natural materials like corn and eucalyptus, as a substitute for leather and PVC (poly vinyl chloride).

Carester (Caremag)

Carester specializes in hydrometallurgical and solvent extraction technologies for rare-earth metal recovery, and is based in Lyon, France. Carester has signed a binding offtake agreement with Stellantis Auto SAS. The long-term agreement provides the supply of more than 3,400 tonnes of neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium oxides, 36% of which are derived from recycling, over a ten-year period.
