JUST

JUST is a food company that uses plant proteins to produce vegan egg and dairy products. JUST is also developing cultured meat products, making it the only company operating in both the plant-based and cultured meat spaces. Impulse Dynamics

IDTechEx spoke to Impulse Dynamics. The company demonstrated Optimizer Smart, a heart failure treatment device for patients not yet in end stage heart failure but showing chronic heart failure symptoms despite being on therapeutic drugs.

Heart2Save

Dr Tuomas Rissanen, Head of Science at Heart2Save, approached IDTechEx to introduce its product. Heart2Save is a company based in Finland that has developed a wearable ECG device.

Zoll

IDTechEx caught up with Zoll, which exhibited the LifeVest Network - a wearable heart monitoring and external defibrillator for heart failure patients at risk of sudden death. This product also takes ECG measurements to assess heart rhythm.

Preventice Solutions

Preventice Solutions revealed the BodyGuardian Mini, a wearable Holter ECG, to IDTechEx during the Congress. It functions as either a single or multichannel ECG.

Wearable watch and patch for cuffless blood pressure monitoring

Biobeat, announced that the US Food and Drug Administration has granted a 510K clearance for its patch and watch for measurement of blood pressure, oxygenation and heart rate in hospitals, clinics, long-term care and at home.

The future of wearables is medical (Part 1)

IDTechEx's most recent report on the industry includes historic data and 10 year market forecasts for 48 different wearable technology product types, of which 20 are types of wearable medical device. These include more traditional medical products such as hearing aids, cardiac devices (e.g. Holter monitors or event monitors) and insulin pumps, but also newer devices such as continuous glucose monitors (CGM) for diabetics, other new electronic skin patches, and other emerging wearable medical device prospects. These products increased their combined annual revenue by $10bn a year in the period from 2010 to 2019, and make up around a third of all of the wearable device revenue in 2019.
