자율주행 자동차, 레벨 2+가 레벨 3보다 더 활성화되는 이유

The automotive industry has been celebrating the certification and release of level 3 vehicles over the past few years; first with Honda in Japan, then Mercedes in Germany and the US, and in 2024, BMW joined the club. However, progress is very slow. Certification has only been achieved in a small number of regions, there are only a handful of vehicles with certification, and the certification covers a very limited operational design domain. IDTechEx is expecting growth to continue but sees more happening in level 2+ vehicles.

Level 2+ technologies allow the driver to remove their hands from the wheel as long as they keep watching the road. This keeps the driver responsible for the vehicle and allows the technology to be used in a much wider scenario set while keeping OEMs happy as they are not assuming as much responsibility. As such, IDTechEx has seen the number of cars with level 2+ systems grow rapidly, and the ODD for these cars has exploded over the past few years.

This IDTechEx webinar will talk about some of the limitations of level 2+ and level 3 technologies and explains the industry is state today. The webinar will cover:
  • What the difference between level 2+ and level 3 is, and what are the major hurdles for each
  • What vehicles currently have level 3 systems and where they can be used
  • What OEMs have level 2+ systems and where they can be used
  • IDTechEx's market outlook and autonomous cars forecast

This webinar shares some of the research from the new IDTechEx report, "Autonomous Vehicles Market 2025-2045: Robotaxis, Autonomous Cars, Sensors".
