Deeper Insights into Solar Cells' Anatomy
Scientists now have a far more powerful tool to better investigate solar cells - a new scanning electron micro-scope. In full operation since January 2020, this device has twice the resolution of its predecessor and the ability to image structures measuring just a few nanometers.

The US Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration approved a regulatory exemption for R2, Nuro's second-generation vehicle. As the first company to be granted approval for a self-driving vehicle exemption, it's an important moment for Nuro and a milestone for the industry.

Copprint
Copprint is an early stage Israeli company that has developed an ink based on copper nanoparticles. Their ink can achieve around 25% of bulk conductivity whilst only requiring a short 2-second anneal using a simple oven system at 125-250C. The ink recently (late 2019) became commercially available, and they have just finished upgrading their production capability to produced 1 tonne/month.

They have developed smart diapers, including a series of sensors such as temperature, humidity and gas sensors for detection of urine and faeces.
