IDTechEx are hosting a free webinar on Tuesday 17 March 2015 on autonomous vehicles.
Webinar Title: Autonomous Vehicles 2015-2035
Date: Tuesday 17 March
Presenter: Dr Peter Harrop, Chairman, IDTechEx
This webinar shares some of the research carried out for the new IDTechEx report, "Autonomous Vehicles 2015-2035". It serves those wanting to succeed in making autonomous vehicles, their components or their systems. The challenges and technology have much in common, be it a robot vacuum cleaner or an autonomous airship carrying out surveillance or communications. We explain how unmanned vehicle technology is emerging, with new opportunities for its employment likely to follow in almost every industry.
Learn how autonomous vehicles already exist that variously travel on-road, off-road, on-water, underwater or in the air and have much in common. Think cameras, odometers, accelerometers, gyroscopes, GPS and sonar, leveraging sensor fusion and the precision, green credentials and stealth of electric powertrains.
Companies developing and selling the components, software and systems increasingly serve autonomous vehicles operating in different forms and applications because here lies economy of scale, increased business, cross-fertilising success and increasing product reliability and marketing clout.
IDTechEx forecasts sales 10 years ahead and gives technology and other timelines to 2035. It looks at the needs being addressed and the psychological, legal, safety, security and other constraints, benchmarking what will be possible and what will be successful when. Easily read diagrams and tables will be presented in the webinar including the hype curve for ten AV families.
