European Union widens scope of organic labeling

The EU is proposing an overhaul of the present organic labeling system, proposing to expand it to processed foods, wine and farmed fish. National agriculture officials are perusing a European Commission paper on the subject. "Organic production" will be explicitly defined and controlled under the proposals.
