Perovskite Solar Modules: Towards Industrially Stand-Alone and Mechanically Stacked Applications

Perovskite solar cells are a new and promising solar cell technology. The challenge we are now facing is how to upscale the cell processing to module level, while maintaining the promising high efficiency values and further increasing the stability and lifetime.
In this presentation we will show the upscaling route imec, in partnership with Solliance, has been taking to achieve its current ~13% perovskite solar modules (16 cm²), and the first results of tandem devices combining silicon and perovskite solar cells with currently 19% but aiming towards +28% efficiency.
Speaker Biography (Philip Pieters)
Philip Pieters holds a M.S. degree and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Leuven, Belgium. Dr. Pieters has been working at imec, an independent nano-electronics research center in Leuven, Belgium, for almost 20 years. He started as a researcher and scientist, and since 2002 he is with the Business Development department. Since 2008 Dr. Pieters is Business Development Director for imec's energy and large area electronics business.
