Bio
Maia Benstead is a Technology Analyst at IDTechEx, currently focussing on sustainable technologies. Prior to joining IDTechEx, Maia obtained a master's degree in chemistry from Durham University. She is currently based in Durham, UK.
Education
Maia graduated from Durham University with an MChem (Masters of Chemistry), in 2023. During her final year, Maia joined a research team at KU Leuven, Belgium, where she focussed on the sustainable recycling of Lithium-ion batteries using hydrometallurgical processing.
Research
Maia is currently focussed on sustainable technologies, extensively studying the markets, materials and trends behind the industry. She has a particular interest in renewable energy devices, including solar cells, fuel cells and the hydrogen economy at large.
