Nanopore: Composite Current Collectors
Nanopore Innovative Technology Ltd. is a company based in Jiangyn, China, that produces current collectors for lithium-ion batteries. Copper and aluminium current foils dominate the industry but to reduce cost and weight Nanopore has developed composite foils that use a polymeric film between two thin depositions of metal. The end result is a foil that weighs significantly less and is less material intensive.
