Konarka files for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy - What next for OPV?
Konarka, the Massachusetts based start-up and a leader in the effort to commercialize organic photovoltaics, has filed for bankruptcy. Since 2001, Konarka had received over $150 Million in start-up funds and $20 Million in government grants. This is the latest in a series of high profile bankruptcies, with other examples companies such as Solyndra and Q-Cells recently.

Fisker fights back
Fisker has greatly delayed the launch of its hybrid sports car and its battery supplier A123 Systems has had quality problems necessitating an expensive recall. There has therefore been speculation in the investment community as to whether either would be long in this world.

Intertek constructs an on-site e-mobility test lab in Kaufbeuren
Intertek has constructed an on-site e-mobility test laboratory in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria in Germany. As of now, the laboratory also offers abuse tests and lifetime tests for batteries and battery packs for electric vehicles as well as hybrid vehicles.
