Materials opportunities in organic OPV photovoltaics

Traditionally, an organic photovoltaic cell uses organic materials other than for electrodes, one of which faces the light and therefore needs to be transparent. Here a fundamental choice is to use soluble polymers that can be printed or use oligomers that need vacuum deposition but provide a better cell at higher cost.
