A way to control the colour of OLEDs

Organic light-emitting diodes are used in smartphones and televisions to facilitate the high-contrast display of colours. Conjugated polymers are also often employed as organic semiconductors in such diodes. Researchers have found out how the spatial structure of these polymers can be used to control the colours of the OLEDs and help to increase the brightness of monitors.

Reveal Biosensors

IDTechEx met with Stephen Ursenbach and Guy Hatch, CEO and CTO respectively as well as being co-founders of Reveal Biosensors. They have developed an 'energy conversion monitor' based on a wearable sensor, used in the diagnosis and management of skin tissue hypoxia and linked areas such as sleep disordered breathing (sleep apnea, etc.).

Emerging Technology Highlights from the IDTechEx Show!

Approximately 3,500 attendees from 42 countries attended the IDTechEx Show!, which featured 284 exhibiting organizations. The event, held in Santa Clara, California, is unique in bringing together eight key technologies with the organizations that seek to use them.

Graphene on the way to superconductivity

Perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells improved with light management
