Mainstream applications of self-healing materials involve more that just the ability of materials to creep and fill cracks or even the self-healing mechanisms withing electrolytic capacitors and batteries. By mainstream we mean materials tailored specifically to be self-healing and used to replace regular materials such as concrete, polymers and corrosion coatings for metals.
