ECO RFID Tag Technology - Scalability And Opportunities With Item Level Connectivity And Related Applications (Internet of Things Applications Europe 2019)

Stora Enso has launched a new sustainable RFID tag technology called ECO™ RFID by Stora Enso, designed for item level identification in supply chain, retail and e-commerce applications. The technology enables paper-based RFID tags, providing a plastic-free and recyclable solution for authentication. And our technology and related roadmap enables scalability and applications such as unmanned store solutions like our New Retail solution with Intelligent Cabinets.

Juha Maijala has been working more than 15 years on RFID, digital connectivity and opportunities in connecting fast moving consumer goods. For the last 3 years he has been heading an internal start-up within Stora Enso Oyj, called Intelligent Packaging. This has now been turned independent unit, with clear growth and expansion activities and plans. Currently he is deputy head of Stora Enso Intelligent Packaging with special emphasis on strategy and partners.
