Frank is a pioneer and veteran in energy harvesting wireless solutions. At the Central Research Department of Siemens AG he created energy harvesting solutions as early as 1995. At EnOcean he acts as the creator of new concepts as well as coordinating the advanced research and patent activities. He has been granted more than 40 patents for his energy harvesting inventions and is the author of numerous technical publications in this field. Frank is a Physicist and studied at the Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany.

EnOcean GmbH is the developer of the patented energy harvesting wireless technology marketed under the Dolphin brand.

Headquartered in Oberhaching, near Munich, the company produces and markets self-powered wireless sensor solutions for batteryless applications in the Internet of Things, which are used for building and industrial automation, smart homes and LED light control.
